Fourteen DECA Students Qualify For State

DGN had another great showing at the DECA regional competition held in St. Charles on January 26th.  Fourteen students placed in the top ten in their respective categories to qualify for the state competition this March.  DECA is a student organization that focuses on marketing in business.

Foods 2 Students Celebrate the End of First Semester



Ms. Bolinger's Foods 2 Students celebrated the end of first semester with a breakfast.  Students made Christmas Morning Breakfast Casserole, Quiche Lorraine, baked french toast with maple syrup, and bacon.

CTE Participates in Downers North's First Elective Fair

On January 18th, Downers North held its first ever Elective Fair.  The Career and Technical Education Department was represented by teachers and former students.  Many DGN students visited the interactive CTE section of the Library to discuss courses for next year.    

Students Attend CTE Presentations

On Tuesday, January 3rd and Wednesday, January 18th, Downers North students currently enrolled in a CTE course attended presentations in the auditorium about elective courses in Career and Technical Education.  The presentations focused on available courses in Business Education, Computer Technology, Cooperative Career Education, Family and Consumer Science, and Industrial Technology.  Approximately 1,500 students attended the presentations.

Openings in Preschool

Little North Stars Preschool The DGN preschool has openings for 2nd semester, 2012!
When: Offering, two, two day a week sessions Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday or attend all four days. 13-week spring session running February through May.

Time: for both sessions are 12:50 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Cost: is $150 for the semester.

Introducing: Career and Technical Education News Center

The CTE News Center is up and running.  Students will now have the opportunity to receive news from CTE throughout the school day.  The display case located outside the Industrial Technology Lab (Room 121), has been updated with a 60" LED television.  We now have the ability to better display student work and pass along CTE news to students and staff.
