Pre-Engineering Boat Race
Students in Tony Ciezadlo's Pre-Engineering course compete against one aother during the annual boat race. The boats are constructed using only cardboard and duct tape. Students design the boat using CAD software, while calculating volume and water displacement.
CTE Department's Pancakes for PLCs
The Career and Technical Education Department held a pancake breakfast for the faculty and staff of Downers Grove North the morning of November 30th. Because this was a late arrival day for students, approximately 100 colleagues had time to gather for a breakfast. This was the first of what we hope to make an annual event.

3D Design & Animation
Students in Tony Ciezadlo's 3D Design & Animation class have been working on monster models. The monster above was created by freshman Kathleen Gannon. Students in this class utilize the same software as video game manufacturers and animated movie makers.

Director of Public Relations for the Kane County Cougars Presents to Sports and Entertainment Marketing Students
Shawn Touney, Director of Public Relations for the Kane County Cougars, visited the Sports and Entertainment Marketing classes on October 21st. Shawn spoke about the marketing efforts of the Cougars and offered advice for students wanting to work for a professional sports organization.

NFL Agent Mike McCartney Presents to Sports and Entertainment Marketing Students
On October 27th, Mike McCartney of Priority Sports spoke to the Sports and Entertainment Marketing classes about his job as an NFL agent. Mike shared his experiences representing players like AJ Hawk and Rashard Mendenhall, and spoke about his role in representing and marketing his clients. Mike is a Downers Grove resident and father of current DGN sophomore, Nicholas McCartney.
